Requirements as a Volunteer

As the volunteer group grows, we require that each volunteer should be involved in at least 2 events and 2 tasks during the calendar year:

• If a volunteer is unable to be involved during the calendar year, please inform the Cantonese in Ireland Board about resigning from the volunteers group.
  The volunteer will be removed from the whatsapp group (and other platforms used for group communications, if applicable).
  If the volunteer is interested in being involved in the future, they are welcome to apply again.

• Cantonese in Ireland will review the volunteers group at least once a year to ensure we have an active volunteer group.

To be involved in an event (aside from brainstorming in the chats) may include:

• Sourcing materials for a workshop/event, seeking out guest speakers, seeking out locations, registration on the day, co-hosting, facilitator, coordinator, help with general setup/teardown, moving things, etc.

• We have various subcommittees including Events, Promotion, Cantonese Storytelling, Pop Culture.
  If a volunteer has an interest in an area, get in touch with the Cantonese in Ireland Board.
