Farmers had special ritual ‘villain hitting’ 打小人 (daa2 siu2 jan4) inviting White Tiger God to protect them from insects

在香港，驚蟄傳統上是「打小人」的日子，其中在銅鑼灣的 #鵝頸橋 最多人 #打小人。
//打小人源自廣東省農區，傳說中國二十四節氣中「驚蟄」之日，春雷會驚醒萬物，包括蛇蟲鼠蟻、以及搬弄是非的小人；農民為保平安，便在百獸之首「白虎」前打小人，鎮壓害蟲及趕走瘟神；承傳至今，打小人已不再限於驚蟄當天進行，但在正日依然最為盛行。
打小人雖由中國傳來，但在內地卻歷經打壓而式微，反而在香港及澳門被「打出個未來」，成為非物質文化遺產；2009年，香港鵝頸橋「神婆打小人」被《時代雜誌》選為「亞洲最佳事物」之一，更被讚譽為最佳抒發情緒的方式（best for the soul）！//
