Cantonese Conversation and Writing Course
Discover the comfort of learning Cantonese from the cozy confines of your home! Our online Cantonese course focuses primarily on conversational skills and writing—the two essential elements of language mastery. With the course fully online, all you need is a comfortable sofa, a cup of brimming coffee, and an adventurous spirit to embark on refreshing 1-hour sessions.
Taught by an experienced Cantonese language instructor and backed by Cantonese In Ireland, this course promises an authentic learning experience.

Time: Every Tuesday evening (8:30pm-9:30pm)
Class Size: Enjoy small, personalised classes with no more than 15 students.

The course will be theme based and conversation based. There will be time for conversation between classmates. Character recognition, writing and Cantonese slangs will be taught.
About our language instructor:
Andy Fung is a qualified secondary school teacher from Hong Kong. He has 16 years of teaching experience, including teaching Cantonese as a Second Language to non-native learners. Newly migrated to Ireland, Andy enjoys travelling, painting, gardening and cycling in his spare time.

Who can join the course?
A: This online course is designed for everyone who is interested in the Cantonese language and culture. It focuses on conversations and writing.
Tell me more about the writing please.
A: We will be learning to write using Traditional Chinese characters. Andy will explain to you the Chinese etymology so to help learning to write.
Will I be given the chances to practise oral Cantonese?
A: Andy will give time for each learner to practise simple conversations in Cantonese, either in the whole class or in group. Every learner needs to be ready to participate so to maximise your learning.
Will there be any recordings or notes for us to do revision after each lesson?
A: Learners can download recordings and notes after each lesson.
