Our Volunteers 我哋嘅義工: Ethan

Hi! My name is Ethan. I have moved to Ireland since 2022, and I am currently still a student studying for the Leaving Cert.


Hi! 我叫 Ethan, 自從2022年搬咗去愛爾蘭，而家仲係學生，準備考Leaving Cert。

In TY, my school made it mandatory for everyone to volunteer in a charity for a week. However, I decided to stay long-term because I have always been heavily interested in Cantonese culture (especially the food!). Not only will I get to introduce others to it, but I will also continue learning about it myself.

喺TY (Transition Year) 嗰年，我學校規定每個人都要做一個星期義工。不過我就決定長期做落去，因為我一直都對廣東文化有好大興趣，特別係食嘢！唔單止可以介紹畀人，自己都可以繼續學多啲。

I believe that although it is important to embrace a new life and a new culture moving to Ireland, it is also just as important to remember where you came from, what your roots are. Cantonese culture is very vibrant, dynamic and colorful, and I hope it stays alive within me for years to come. Also, I believe everyone needs to try 叉燒包 at least once in a lifetime :)


我覺得，搬去愛爾蘭接受新生活同文化係好重要，但同時都唔可以唔記得自己嘅根，喺邊度嚟。廣東文化好有活力同色彩，我希望佢喺我身上可以長存好多年。仲有，我覺得每個人一生都應該試一次叉燒包！:)
