Cantonese in Ireland Turns Three! / 粵語愛爾蘭已經三歲啦！
We recently celebrated the third anniversary of Cantonese in Ireland with a vibrant party last Saturday. This year’s event was particularly special, as we welcomed guests from diverse cultural backgrounds for the first time.
Scott, former President of the New Macau Association, shared insights on Ireland’s political system, while Kensika from the Immigrant Council of Ireland gave an engaging talk on anti-discrimination and multiculturalism. We were also pleased to have Valéria Aquino (Immigrant Council of Ireland), Gonchigkhand Byambaa (Irland Ornoor), and Liliana Fernández (National Voter Registration Day Ireland) join us, and we look forward to more opportunities for cultural exchange.
The celebration included a Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. Congratulations to:
Philip – For leading our Cheung Po Tsai Dragon Boat Team and organising multiple Cantonese film screenings, promoting Hong Kong cinema in Ireland.
Lisa – For her key role in planning several major events this year, including the Lunar New Year celebration, Mahjong Tournament, and our anniversary party.

過去嘅星期六我哋舉辦咗生日party，今次聚會同舊年都幾唔同，除咗係各位粵語朋友嘅吹水大會之外，我哋都好榮幸首次邀請到唔同文化背景嘅嘉賓嚟交流，包括前「新澳門學社」主席Scott ，佢同大家分享有關愛爾蘭政治制度嘅知識；Immigrant Council of Ireland 嘅Kensika 就同大家就反歧視同多元文化作演講。
另外都好開心當日有嚟自唔同社群嘅Valéria，Gonchigkhand同Liliana參與活動，希望之後可以有更多交流學習嘅機會！
當日我哋亦都舉行咗義工頒獎典禮，以下兩位係今年獲獎嘅義工：
Philip-多謝Philip擔任我哋嘅張保仔龍舟隊隊長，帶領各位隊員練習用參加比賽！另外Philip都幫手籌辦咗好多次粵語電影播放活動，令愛爾蘭嘅粵語社群同對粵語文化有興趣嘅大家有更多欣賞港產片嘅機會！
Lisa-多謝Lisa今年幫手籌辦咗好幾個大活動，包括新年活動、麻雀比賽同三週年活動，活動都好順利進行，感激你嘅付出！

Dragon Boat Regatta 龍舟競渡
On 8th June in Carlow, a vibrant day of dragon boat racing brought together teams and spectators for an exciting and spirited event. Participants showed clear improvement in rowing technique, with noticeable progress in racing times compared to previous outings. The atmosphere was lively and communal, highlighted by the sharing of delicious Cantonese food that added a rich cultural touch to the day. Both racers and onlookers enjoyed the event, celebrating not only the sport but also the growing teamwork and camaraderie.
6月8日，喺Carlow發生咗一場充滿活力嘅龍舟比賽，吸引唔少隊伍同觀眾一齊參與。我哋嘅張保仔龍舟隊喺划船技巧方面有明顯進步，比賽時間亦有所提升，表現越嚟越好。現場氣氛熱鬧又有團體精神，大家仲一齊分享咗美味嘅雞蛋仔、燒味、蛋撻、糭等粵式食品，為活動增添咗濃厚嘅文化色彩。無論係參賽者定觀眾，都過咗一個愉快又難忘嘅一日。

On Friday 6th June, our wonderful volunteer Lisa (Lisa's Nails) represented Cantonese in Ireland to visit Nazareth House Nursing Home in Dublin 3 offering nail care to residents — bringing smiles, connection, and a little pampering to their day!
尋日（6月6日，星期五），我哋嘅義工Lisa （Lisa's Nails）代表我哋粵語愛爾蘭到咗位於都柏林3區嘅 Nazareth House 護老院，為院友提供美甲服務。Lisa親切嘅笑容同埋專業嘅服務，令院友體會到我哋粵語愛爾蘭人對我哋身處社群嘅關愛。
