Cantonese Storytelling on Saturdays: The Best Gift in the World

Although it is well past Mother's Day here in Ireland, in Hong Kong we would
have just celebrated it last Sunday on the 11th of May 2025! Similar to
in Ireland, people young and old in Hong Kong celebrate this holiday by
giving handmade gifts to their mothers and enjoying delicious cakes
together!

雖然愛爾蘭嘅母親節已經過咗好耐，但係喺香港，啱啱先喺上個禮拜（5月11日2025年）慶祝呢個節日咋！同愛爾蘭差唔多，香港嘅男女老少會送心意禮品俾佢哋嘅媽咪，同埋一齊切蛋糕！

"The Best Gift in the World" is about a little boy who wants to gift to his
mother the biggest and greatest gift he can find; the moon itself!
However, he is tiny and the moon is humongous... How will he give his
mom the perfect gift?

「世界上最好的禮品」呢個故事講關於一個小男孩。佢想送一份最大最好嘅禮物俾佢最錫嘅媽咪：月亮！但係，佢非常矮小，而月亮非常巨大。。。佢究竟可以點樣將呢份最好嘅禮物送俾佢媽咪呢？

We will also invite children to learn how to write a few Traditional Han characters, and maybe even play a little story-related game. See you there!

到時小朋友仲會一齊寫幾個繁體漢字，甚至可以玩個故事小遊戲。到時見你喇！

A FREE 40-min event of Cantonese story telling for children.

Heritage and curious learners of Cantonese are welcome, especially those aged 5-9.

Stories will be told in Cantonese, briefly in English whenever necessary.

After the story, participants are invited to do some simple Traditional Chinese writing, singing or Arts and Crafts.

Event occurs on every 1st Saturday online.

For children protection and better communication with participants, all participants are required to turn on the camera mode.

Siblings who share one login need one ticket only.

免費四十分鐘嘅廣東話故事時間又同大家見面。歡迎各位有興趣嘅朋友一齊參加。

活動主要以廣東話進行，如有需要，會配以簡單英語字詞以助孩子了解。

除咗聽故仔，我哋仲會一齊寫繁體漢字、聽歌仔、玩吓遊戲，或者做吓手工。

活動逢每個月第一個星期六舉行。

為保障兒童及增加大家嘅參與，參加者需要使用視像模式。
