Cantonese Flowerboard Workshop (Cork)

The Cantonese flowerboard crafting technique is one of the intangible cultural heritage in Hong Kong.

This workshop is one of the three events in our Cantonese Flowerboard Programme.

Participants of this workshop will be introduced to the history and the craftsmanship of Cantonese flowerboards. Flowerboards use wooden/ bamboo poles, detailed with dragon, phoenix and cloud patterns. The participants in this workshop will make a big flowerboard together. The flowerboard will be displayed in our photo exhibition in November in Cork City Library.

Cantonese Flowerboard Programme is supported by the Creative Ireland Programme and all-of-government five-year initiative, from 2023-2027, which places creativity at the centre of public policy. Further information from creativeireland.gov.ie.
