National Voter Registration Day Ireland

Did you know that migrants can vote in Ireland?

You don’t need to be an Irish citizen to have your say. If you are aged 18 or over and live in Ireland, you can register to vote in local elections.

Recently, two of our volunteers, Kiki and Max, took part in a National Voter Registration Day Ireland campaign aimed at encouraging voter registration among underrepresented communities. Their efforts are part of Cantonese in Ireland’s broader commitment to promoting civic engagement.

Over the past few years, we have organised information sessions on voter registration and the Irish political system, helping our community better understand how to participate. This work was supported by funding from the Department of Children, Disability and Equality, and carried out in collaboration with the Immigrant Council of Ireland.

你知唔知喺愛爾蘭，移民都可以投票㗎？

其實，你唔一定要係愛爾蘭公民，只要年滿18歲而且居住喺愛爾蘭，就可以登記參加地方選舉（local elections）投票。

最近，我哋兩位義工 Kiki 同埋 Max 參加咗由 National Voter Registration Day Ireland 舉辦嘅活動，鼓勵一啲少數族裔或者代表性不足嘅社群登記做選民。呢個亦係我哋一直以來推動公民參與嘅工作之一。

過去呢幾年，我哋舉辦過好幾場關於選民登記同埋愛爾蘭政治制度嘅資訊講座，幫大家了解點樣參與公共事務。呢啲活動係由 Department of Children, Disability and Equality, 資助，並聯同 Immigrant Council of Ireland. 合作舉辦。
