NCCA Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate Early Review & HSE Ireland Interpretation Services

Cantonese in Ireland would like to let you know that we have recently raised two issues with the Irish government:

1. NCCA Mandarin Chinese Leaving Certificate Early Review

We called for the right to use Traditional Chinese characters in exams, and highlighted the need for recognition of Cantonese students, including consideration of a separate Cantonese subject.

2. HSE Ireland Interpretation Services

Many Cantonese speakers are unaware they can request a free Cantonese interpreter for healthcare appointments. We’ve asked the HSE to inform patients of this right.

We’ll continue pushing for fair access and recognition for the Cantonese community in Ireland.

1. 華文高考科初期檢討

我哋要求政府保障考生以繁體字作答嘅權利，並指出應正視粵語學生嘅需要，包括考慮設立獨立嘅粵文高考科。

2. HSE 醫療傳譯服務

好多粵語愛爾蘭人未必知道，喺醫療預約時可以免費申請粵語傳譯員。我哋已經向 HSE 反映，應加強向病人宣傳呢項權利。

我哋會繼續為在愛嘅粵社群向政府爭取公平資源同應有嘅認可。
