The origins of Pancake Tuesday actually dated way back to the medieval times, when people with religious beliefs were required to fast during the “Lent” period, which means basically the fasting period. Since meat, dairy and other foods weren’t allowed during the fasting period, people would use up all their eggs, butter and milk to make pancakes on the Tuesday before it starts. Therefore, it became a tradition.

There are some popular fundraising events for charities, where people run while flipping pancake in a frying pan. So, why don’t you mix up some batter and get flipping?

班戟星期二嘅起源實際上可以追溯到中世紀，當時有宗教信仰嘅人要喺“四旬齋”期間禁食。由於禁食期間唔允許食用肉類、奶製品同其他食物，因此要喺四旬齋開始前嘅星期二用完所有雞蛋、黃油同牛奶嚟製作班戟。因此，形成咗一種傳統。

今時今日有一啲慈善團體，會舉辦一個喺班戟星期二邊煎班戟邊賽跑嘅活動。我哋一於一齊整班戟啦！
