根據傳統中華曆法，今日係驚蟄。春雷驚醒咗喺地底下冬眠嘅昆蟲。古代農民擔心害蟲影響收成，所以就求神保佑一年豐收。慢慢求神儀式演變成驚蟄打小人祭白虎嘅傳統，並流傳落嚟。
打小人祭白虎仲被列為香港非物質文化遺產，非常治癒。
