💝Happy Valentine’s Day of the East!
Lantern Festival, so called Valentine’s Day of the East, is tomorrow! It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the Lunar calendar, during the full moon.
Long time ago, on the land of now China, all people were prohibited to go out, but at Lantern Festival, everyone was allowed to hang around. For young and unmarried people, the festival is an excellent opportunity to meet others.
During the festival, people go out at night carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns. Small glutinous rice balls 'yuan xiao' or 'tang yuan' is a traditional dish of Lantern Festival. The round shape of the balls symbolizes wholeness and unity within the family.
