Online Cantonese Writing Course for kids - from voice to stories / 兒童粵文寫作網上課程 - 用聲音寫故事
Looking for a fun and creative way for your child to start writing in Cantonese – without needing to know Chinese characters? Join our Online Cantonese Writing Course for Kids, where we turn spoken Cantonese into written stories using voice input technology!
This beginner-friendly course is perfect for children who can speak (even just a bit of) Cantonese and are curious about expressing themselves through writing.

11:00 – 11:40 AM (Irish Time)
💻 What to Expect:
Use voice typing in Google Docs or Microsoft Word to create Cantonese compositions
Learn with Cantonese fonts that show Jyutping (phonetic guide) so children can read what they wrote
Write and read simple stories together – even if your child has never written before!
Focus on storytelling, self-expression, and Cantonese literacy in a playful, low-pressure setting
🧒 Who Can Join?
Ideally for children aged 5–12 who can speak Cantonese (even at a basic level), but younger or older kids are welcome too if interested
No Han characters writing experience is needed

Peg Chiu – Author of the Cantonese children's picture book "The Tiger Under the Flyover", Peg is an experienced and passionate teacher who loves working with children. She brings warmth, creativity, and cultural insight to every session, helping young learners connect with Cantonese in meaningful and fun ways.
