Tell us something about yourself.
Hi I’m Angela currently based in cork.
To be honest it was my degree which brings to me cork, I was debating between Ireland and the UK, but due to various circumstances I chose Ireland and am currently studying my dream course in UCC. I’m’ loving it so far!
不如你介紹吓自己。
你好，我係Angela，而家住喺Cork。
其因為我嘅學位課程，所以我嚟咗Cork。記得當時我考慮緊去英國定愛爾蘭讀書，最後因為種種原因選擇咗愛爾蘭，而家喺UCC讀緊我夢寐以求嘅課程。直到而家，我仲係好鍾意呢度！
I started with CII three years ago when I first arrived cork. I was scrolling through Facebook and wonder if there’s any Cantonese community in Ireland therefore I reached out to Peg and seemingly it’s one of the best choice I’ve made so far.
三年前我啱啱嚟到Cork，亦嗰陣開始接觸CII。當時想睇下喺愛爾蘭有冇粵語社群，終於喺Facebook度無意間發現咗CII。我跟Peg聯絡，結果發現呢個決定係我至今做過最好嘅選擇之一。
I’m sort of helping with scattered tiny little bits among the community. I was one of the guest speaker of Alice’s podcast probably one or two years ago and assisted in photo exhibition, then moved on to post making and volunteered in a few sessions in the storytelling in cork library. Recently helped with writing an email to a new library for their interest in setting up our photo exhibition.
我主要係幫手處理社群入面零散嘅細節工作。我大概一兩年前曾經做過Alice嘅Podcast嘉賓，亦有幫手影相展覽，之後開始設計宣傳貼文，亦有喺Cork圖書館嘅故事分享活動度做義工。最近仲幫手寫咗封Email俾一間新圖書館，希望佢哋對我哋嘅攝影展有興趣。
My hope for Cantonese immigrants is to be proud of your culture and your identity! Ireland is a beautiful country with so many lovely people coming from a diverse background and they always love to hear about our culture ! (Speaking of experiences). There are indeed quite a bit of overlapping with the Cantonese and Irish culture so it’s always amazing to hear about them.
我希望粵移民可以為自己嘅文化同身份感到自豪。愛爾蘭係一個好靚嘅國家，入面有好多來自唔同文化背景嘅善良人，根據我個人嘅親身經驗，佢哋都對我哋嘅文化充滿興趣！其實粵文化同愛爾蘭文化有唔少相似之處，每次交流都覺得好神奇！
It could be really challenging to adapt into a whole new different place so reach out to the community whenever necessary. They are all nice people
