Our Volunteers 我哋嘅義工: Ryan Kwok
Hi all, my name is Ryan and I am born and raised in Hong Kong. 大家好，我係Ryan，係一個土生土長嘅香港人。
I have just finished my four years of studies in Trinity College Dublin. I am honoured to become a committee member this year for Cantonese in Ireland as Communications Officer after participating in different events and previously being a volunteer.
我啱啱喺聖三一學院完成咗四年嘅學士學位，而家處於失業/待業嘅狀態中。我好開心今年可以成為新一屆幹事嘅一員，擔任傳訊幹事一職。
What bring you to Ireland:
I came to Ireland mainly for university, where I studied law and political science. Now, my family including my younger brother are all living in Ireland, and I plan to live here for the foreseeable future.
我嚟愛爾蘭主要係為咗讀大學，我修讀嘅係法律同政治學。而家我屋企人，包括我細佬都已經移居咗嚟，而我喺嚟緊呢幾年應該都會留喺呢度。
How did you start with Cantonese in Ireland:
I came across with Cantonese in Ireland a few years ago, on social media and in a few Hong Kong movies’ screenings, but my first time joining CII’s event was during last year’s dragon boat competition in Carlow.
我第一次認識到CII大概係喺兩年前，喺Facebook同埋唔同嘅港產片放映會上面見到CII嘅宣傳。而我第一次正式參與CII嘅活動係喺上年嘅龍舟比賽，自此之後我就加入咗CII成為義工。
What have you done with CII:
Since then I have joined as a volunteer, providing assistance in events like the Mahjong tournament, Chinese New Year booth and school workshops. And since becoming part of the committee, I have taken part in working with the promotion group, organising different events and acting as the point of contact for the organisation.
我成為義工之後，主要幫手搞活動，例如麻雀比賽、新年攤位同學校工作坊。今年成為咗幹事之後，我負責參與推廣組嘅工作，負責籌辦唔同嘅活動同埋成為CII嘅主要聯絡人。
Hope for Cantonese immigrants in Ireland:
As a Cantonese immigrant myself, my hopes for Cantonese immigrants in Ireland is that we could feel and build a sense of belonging and care within the community, while also being able to integrate into Irish society without losing our Cantonese culture and identity, which CII is striving to preserve and promote, to build an inclusive and multicultural community here in Ireland.
作為一名講廣東話嘅移民，我希望我哋可以喺社區入面建立一種歸屬感，同時無阻我哋融入愛爾蘭社會，而唔需要放棄自己嘅粵語文化。呢樣嘢亦都係粵語愛爾蘭一直想做嘅嘢，致力保育同推廣粵語文化，希望可以喺愛爾蘭建立一個共融同多元文化嘅社區。
