Time Difference (《時差》) is a non-fiction book about Ireland written in Traditional Han Charcters. In this talk, Hong Kong writer Ki Kwok (郭梓祺) introduces the ideas behind the book and reflects on his time studying Irish writing at Trinity College Dublin.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held online on 27 March 2026 at 20:30. During the meeting, we will also hold the election for the new committee (2026–2027).

We’re forming Team Cheung Po Tsai to race at the Barrow Dragon Boat Regatta in Carlow on Sunday 7 June.

To race, we need about 23 paddlers — and right now we’re recruiting!

You don’t need experience. If you can paddle and enjoy team spirit, you’re welcome.

Come out and march with Cantonese in Ireland in Dún Laoighire, Co. Dublin, on the 17th of March, from 10:00am to 12:00pm!

Hi, my name is Ian Hau, British born Chinese. Grew up in London and have been in Dublin just over a year now.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with our newsletter! If you’re interested in supporting the Cantonese community and helping more people learn about the Cantonese language and culture, or if you enjoy writing, we’d love to have you on board! Volunteers will help with writing articles, creating graphic, organising content, and more. 

Dublin Vikings Dragon Boat are hosting an open day tryout on 21 February – a perfect chance for anyone with no dragon boat experience to give it a go.

Join us for a special bilingual storytelling session of The Magic Horse of Han Gan by Chen Jiang Hong — a stunning tale of art, imagination and courage — shared in two languages to welcome the Year of the Horse.

Cantonese in Ireland has decided to discontinue our use of X.

This decision is based on our ongoing review of platform technologies and their suitability for use by organizations working with families, young people, and migrant communities. As part of this review, we considered recent developments on the platform, including the introduction of AI tools such as Grok AI, and assessed the potential risks associated with their use.
