Hello everyone, I’m Kiki. I’ve been in Ireland for almost four years now. Since last year, I’ve become a mother. My husband and I have gone from living as a couple to building a family together and taking care of our baby—it’s been a completely different life.

May is called Bealtaine (bell-tin-er) in Irish, and it traditionally marks the beginning of summer and the time to drive cattle to higher grounds for summer grazing. No wonder we have such beautiful weather recently, which almost makes us forget the gloomy winter days! Let's go out more when the weather is nice, and enjoy the amazing nature scenery of Ireland. Remember we have an CII Anniversary Celebration at the end of May (see below): we look forward to welcoming as many as possible to make new friends and have fun!
喺愛爾蘭文入邊，五月叫做Bealtaine (bell-tin-er)，傳統上標誌住夏天嘅開始，同埋將牛羊趕去山上嘅牧場食草直到秋季。無怪乎近排經常陽光普照，微風和暖，我哋差啲唔忘記晒冬日嘅灰暗。趁天光靚，大家多啲出門行吓，享受愛爾蘭美麗嘅大自然啦！記得我哋粵語愛爾蘭五月底有週年慶，希望有多多人來一齊線下互動，認識新朋友！

I am a linguist specializing in speech, forensic phonetics and trilingualism. Growing up in Cantonese culture, Cantonese identity has always been one of my most important identities.

Hello，我係 Grace，我係一位喺大學教書嘅語言學家。嚟愛爾蘭之前，我喺香港做開關於粵語、普通話同埋英文呢三種語言之間點樣互相影響嘅研究。嚟到愛爾蘭之後，我都希望有機會可以繼續做多啲同粵語相關嘅研究。

我喺一個充滿粵語文化嘅環境下長大，由細到大都係睇 TVB 劇集、聽廣東歌、飲茶，仲好鍾意食燒味同煲仔飯。「粵語人」呢個身份，係我咁多個身份之中嘅一個好重要嘅身份認同。佢唔單止影響住我對公共事務嘅參與，仲深深影響我嘅研究、我嘅思考方式，以及我同人之間嘅連結。
